WCE Participates In “Rail Research And Technology Conference: RRTC 2023”

West Coast Engineering, Co., Ltd, or WCE, has joined the international engineering systems and rail technology seminar, the “Rail Research and Technology Conference: RRTC2023,” organized by Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization) in collaboration with the Hub of Talents: Thailand Railway Research Network. The conference, themed “Industry – Academic Linkage,” took place from September 6th to 7th, 2023, at Centara Grand, Central World.

WCE had the opportunity to showcase and share their knowledge in rail technology through presentations, alongside government agencies, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders related to Thailand’s leading rail systems. WCE proudly introduced their prototype of Container Flat Wagon, the first of its kind in Thailand, designed and manufactured using Thai technology.

During the conference, Mr. Kajorn Sivarungson, Head of Rail Engineering and Locomotives at WCE, presented “The Dynamics of Railway Service Capability of WCE,” while Mr. Weerasak Rakchan and Mr. Kampanat Sookchanchai spoke on “Enhancing Underframe Flat-Wagon Strength Testing with Measurement Technology.” These wagons have successfully passed both Static and Dynamic Tests based on Thai railway standards and are currently undergoing a 6-month, 72,000-kilometer trial with the Thai Railways.

In addition to these achievements, WCE offers a wide range of engineering services related to rail systems and trains, including skilled labor for maintenance and repair, manufacturing and distribution of parts such as wheels, axles, and bearings, refurbishment, modification, and customization of passenger and freight cars, and the production and installation of rail workshop equipment. WCE continues to develop technology for manufacturing rail cars and locomotives for sale or lease in the future.

The event attracted a significant number of attendees interested in exchanging knowledge and insights with WCE, including educational institutions eager to collaborate on research and innovation in rail engineering. Leading global companies in the industry also expressed interest in forming business partnerships. Thus, WCE’s participation in this conference not only contributes valuable knowledge to the public but also strengthens Thailand’s technological capabilities in the rail sector in collaboration with the national rail network.
