Ready to Run! WCE’s Bogie Container Flat wagon Passed the Performance Running Test Conducted by SRT

On May 10-11, 2566, two Bockey Goods Trucks, or Bogie Container Flat wagons (Bogie Container Flat wagon), designed and manufactured by West Coast Engineering Limited (WCE), a subsidiary of Saha Viriya Group, successfully passed the Performance Running Test. The running test, conducted by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), covered a total distance of over 400 kilometers with a load capacity of 20 tons. Throughout the rigorous four-day testing period from May 8-11, 2566, experts from SRT supervised and controlled the testing process, with the participation of officials from the Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization) (RTRDA).

During this test, the two Bogie Container Flat wagons were tested on the southern railway line. The test involved running without cargo from Na Phak Khuang Station to Prachuap Khiri Khan Station, as well as running with a load of 8 hot-rolled steel coil containers from Na Phak Khuang Station to Chumphon Station. WCE’s Bogie Container Flat wagons successfully met the test objectives, including reaching a maximum speed of not exceeding 100 km/h, testing the stopping distance at positions P and G, and conducting vibration tests while in motion.

This performance running test is a crucial step in the production of WCE’s Bogie Container Flat wagons, which are the first of their kind in Thailand to meet the standards set by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). These wagons are designed using durable materials capable of carrying loads of up to 85 tons. They also utilize radial bogie technology to reduce rail wear. Following the successful test, these Bogie Container Flat wagons will undergo a six-month trial period, covering a distance of 72,000 kilometers, in actual railway operations.
